From puppies to active dogs, small breeds and seniors, they all need a place to play and stay when their human family is away. Kirkwood Bark & Lounge is providing an excellent facility for both day care and boarding.

Doggie day care and boarding at Kirkwood Bark & Lounge will provide an excellent environment to socialize your pet and just let him/her be a DOG!

Food: It is best to keep your dog on the diet they are used to. If you forget to bring their food a premium house food is available. At your request when your dog is with us for day care, we can feed your dog either the food you provide or house food. There is no charge for feeding your pet, however we have a $3.00 fee per serving charge for the house food.

Medication: Our professionally trained staff will administer oral medications to our guests at no additional charge.

Toys & Bedding: For pets who are being boarded, you may want to bring some toys, bedding and or blankets that remind them of home to help with possible anxiety. If your dog(s) have a tendency to ingest bedding or toys, please do not bring them with you.

Treats: During the day we will provide treats to our boarding and daycare guests. Please let us know if you do not want your dog to have treats (perhaps if they are allergic to certain foods) or if you will be providing a particular treat for them. Our boarded guests will get a nightly treat before they go to bed.

After Hours: We want you to feel at ease leaving your dog at Kirkwood Bark & Lounge. A member of the Bark & Lounge family will be only two blocks away after hours and Decatur Village Vet 24 hour emergency vet is located only 5 mins from the Bark & Lounge. Frogs to Dogs Emergency Animal Transport will be available 24 hours a day for any emergencies that may arise. You will be required to sign a release upon leaving your dog to authorize the use of this service.

Kirkwood Bark and Lounge will be a home away from home for your four legged family members. We are not a huge warehouse with 80 to 100 dogs at a time, rather we are a small doggy daycare and boarding facility who provides personal attention to your pet. We have separate areas for small and large dogs, an outdoor area for playing, and doggy cams installed for watching. Small and large dogs will never be in each others play area or together when outside unless the owner requests their small dog play in the large dog area.

Our staff members are trained by professionals and are taught how to identify dog aggression, how to properly separate dogs if needed and are required to attend monthly continuing education courses. We want you to feel comfortable leaving your much loved family members in our care and we treat each and every dog like one of our own!
